Salah Extends Regret to Teammates, Says Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that Mohamed Salah apologised to the team after the controversy from his public comments.
What Happened
He was omitted from a key Champions League match after making accusations and stating his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”
The manager has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.
Moving Forward
He emphasized that the squad's reaction remained positive. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.
He also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is preferable. “I understand there are certain ways you can go about things,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just be on the bench, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
On-Field Response
Their results have stayed unbeaten in the period after the initial controversy. He feels the forward's comments were never meant to destabilise the squad.
“If passion has boiled over, the source has been from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and securing victories.”
