Plane Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Due to Fracture in Cockpit Window
A jet carrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the plane's windshield, according to an official statement which confirmed that all passengers were secure.
"The aircraft landed based on standard procedures and all individuals on the flight, including Pete Hegseth, is safe," an official representative said in a public statement.
He was traveling back from a quick journey to the Belgian capital during the flight.
This incident isn't the first occasion that a US military aircraft carrying a high-ranking official has experienced mechanical issues.
In a previous incident this year, a US Air Force plane ferrying the US Secretary of State to the city in Germany was forced to head back to the US capital after encountering a mechanical fault.
