Lawmakers Unveil Newest Batch of Epstein Photographs as Department of Justice Time Limit Looms
Committee
The House investigative committee has released a batch of around 70 photos obtained from the property of former found guilty individual convicted of sex crimes Jeffrey Epstein.
This marks the latest in a series of publication from a tranche of in excess of 95,000 photos the body has secured from Epstein's estate. It includes images of quotes from the book Lolita written across a woman's body, and obscured pictures of female foreign passports.
This action arrives just hours before the December 19th deadline for the Justice Department to release each documents connected to its inquiry into Epstein.
"These photos pose additional queries about exactly what the Department of Justice has in its holdings," said the ranking member of the committee, Robert Garcia.
What is in the Photos Disclosed
Some of the images released on recently depict Epstein conversing with scholar and advocate Noam Chomsky inside a private jet; Bill Gates seen beside a woman whose identity is redacted; Steve Bannon sitting at a desk facing Epstein, and former Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner gathering.
Committee
These are the latest affluent, influential men to be pictured in Epstein estate photos published by the oversight panel - previously released pictures also include US President Donald Trump and former president Bill Clinton, as well as director Woody Allen, former US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, lawyer Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and other figures.
Appearing in the images is does not constitute proof of any wrongdoing, and many of the pictured individuals have stated they were in no way implicated in Epstein's illegal activity.
In a announcement issued alongside the photograph disclosure, Lawmakers on the US House Oversight Committee noted the Epstein estate did not offer explanatory details or dates for the images.
"Photographs were picked to offer the public with transparency into a typical cross-section of the photographs obtained from the estate, and to provide understanding into Epstein's circle and his profoundly alarming activities," the announcement reads.
Investigative Body
The disclosure also features several photographs of passages from the Vladimir Nabokov novel Lolita written in ink across different parts of a woman's body, including her upper body, lower extremity, hipbone, and back. Lolita tells the story of a minor who was manipulated by a middle-aged literature professor.
A particular quote from the work inscribed across a woman's chest says, "Lolita: the end of the tongue traveling of three steps down the roof of the mouth to land, at three, on the teeth".
Additionally, there are a series of photos of female passports and official papers from nations around the world, such as Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.
Oversight Panel
A large portion of the details on the papers, like names and dates of birth, is obscured but the panel stated in a announcement that the travel documents belong to "women whom Jeffrey Epstein and his conspirators were interacting with".
An additional photo depicts Epstein positioned at a desk closely flanked by three individuals whose identities have been censored - a first has her hand on Epstein's chest under his shirt, and a second is bending to look at a adjacent device. Epstein seems to be helping the final person put on a bracelet.

Another image made public is a screenshot of text messages from an unknown sender who states they have been supplied "a number of girls" and are asking for "$$1,000 per girl".
Photo Disclosure Comes Ahead of DOJ Due Date
The body has many thousands of photographs in its holdings from the Epstein estate, which are "simultaneously disturbing and everyday," its press release on recently clarified.
The House Oversight Committee first issued a subpoena to the holdings of Epstein, who passed away in a New York correctional facility in 2019 while facing trial on allegations of human trafficking, in August.
The photos and documents the Epstein property provided to the body are distinct from what is commonly called "Epstein-related records". Those files are documents in the justice department's control associated with its separate investigation into Epstein.
Pursuant to the recently passed law, which President Trump made law last month, the DOJ has a deadline of 19 December to release its documents. The extent of what is included in the DOJ's documents is unclear, and it's likely that a large amount of the information will be significantly censored, similar to the committee's releases
